A degree award financed entirely by the Coverciano Football Museum is named after Mario Sconcerti
The competition will be opened shortly by the University of Florence and will be for master's theses concerning the history and world of footballSaturday, December 16, 2023
Exactly one year ago, 17 December 2022, Mario Sconcerti left us, a journalist who - thanks to his deep knowledge and tireless work - made us further understand how tight the link between football and his story was.
Sconcerti's impact and charisma in the footballing world was seen by the accolades he received following his death, a symptom of the esteem that his fellow workers had for him: from the title of ‘Technical Director’, given to him by the Federation's Technical Sector, to being inducted into Italian football's Hall of Fame, a recognition from the Fondazione Museo del Calcio (Football Museum) and the FIGC ‘to enhance the heritage, history, culture and values of Italian football through the most representative and emblematic sporting personalities’.
The Museo del Calcio in Coverciano wanted to provide a further homage to Mario Sconcerti and an application will be opened shortly by the Unversity of Florence (Università degli Studi di Firenze) for an award entirely financed by the same Fondazione Museo del Calcio and intended for the best Master's thesis on the history and world of football.
