Women's European Championship 2025: Switzerland announced as hosts

Switzerland will host the 2025 Women's European Championship. The decision came during the UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Lisbon today. Switzerland prevailed over the joint bid of four Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Switzerland), Poland and France.

The tournament, which will take place in two years in the summer, will consist of 16 national teams and will be played in Basel, Bern, Geneva, Zurich, St. Gallen, Sion, Lucerne and Thun.

Qualification. Following the model already used in the men's tournament and following the study of a working group on national competitions, from 2023 the women's competitions will also have a new qualification format, with the Nations League also being established.
