Three of the Azzurri, who were crowned European champions on 11 July at Wembley, are among the 23 players that received the most votes towards the FIFA FIFPRO Men's World XI for 2021. FIFPRO and FIFA asked professional players throughout the world to vote for the best players in each position for the 2020/21 season. The final Men's World XI will be announced on Monday 17 January as part of The Best FIFA Football Awards.
That evening, the FIFPRO Women's World Xi will also be revealed, with Barbara Bonansea featuring in the list of the final 23 players.
