A UEFA Executive Committee meeting was held today in Prague, which decided the the medium- and long-term goals regarding women's football, approving its strategy for the period 2024-2030 (full details will be published later).
Earlier in the day there was an event dedicated to grassroots football as part of the Football in Schools program, which has involved more than three million children and 80,000 schools since 2020. In the area of international support, on the other hand, the 'UEFA Together' program was established to support confederations that aims to have a more focused and collaborative approach to the development of football outside Europe.
The committee also ratified the criteria for allocating the new solidarity distributions to clubs not participating in UEFA men's competitions for the 2024-2027 cycle, with the allocated share rising from 4 percent to 7 percent of the planned revenue threshold of 4.4 billion euros.
Regarding the allocation of competition venues, UEFA - having assessed that the City of Milan could not guarantee that Stadio San Siro and the surrounding areas would not be affected by renovations during the period of the 2027 Champions League final - chose to reopen the bidding process, with the decision expected between May and June 2025. Instead, Chisinau (Moldova) was chosen as the venue for the final round of the 2025 UEFA European Under-19 Futsal Championship.
The next meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee is scheduled for 16 December in Lausanne, prior to the draw for the final phase of UEFA Women's Euros 2025.
