The new episode of 'Professione Presidente' now on DAZN. Protagonist Gabriele Gravina, President of the FIGC

Following the recent collaboration signed between DAZN and the FIGC, the leading broadcaster in sports entertainment and the FIGC take to the field once again for the second episode of 'Professione Presidente', the format presented by Giorgia Rossi and available on the platform from today, which tells Italian fans about the behind-the-scenes activities of institutions, leagues and sports clubs, starting from the point of view of those who run them: the Presidents. The protagonist of this new episode is Gabriele Gravina, President of the FIGC, who between the headquarters of the Federation in Rome and then in Coverciano, where the first example of a football federation's own sports structure is located, tries to imagine the future of football in Italy.

A systemic and cultural reform of the sector, which is necessary to trigger an innovative process, is at the heart of the President's reflection: from the growth logic of clubs, which must be transformed into 'sustainable development', taking into account revenues but above all cost control, 'Italy must first and foremost overcome the exclusive logic of growth to solve any problem. If you only think of growing with revenues without bringing costs under control, maintaining a ratio of production value to labour costs close to 90 per cent, it is clear that the more growth increases, the more labour costs increase. So the solution is not in growth, but in the concept of development. And it must be sustainable development. That 's' in front of the word 'development' means negation: to take away from the shackles is an important concept'. A tangible example is precisely that of Napoli, which this year has combined passion, a sense of responsibility and vision, 'a reality that wanted to turn the tide, trying to bring costs under control, trying to invest the right amount with respect to its economic-financial availability, and the result is there for all to see'. And then greater participation and sharing in the world of football, which cannot be separated from a new form of education against racism and violence in the stadiums.

There was also talk about EURO 2032, a flywheel for stadium and infrastructure planning, 'we are bidding to seize an extraordinary opportunity and to review all our stadium and infrastructure planning. I believe that this can be an opportunity for the big UEFA family to give our country a chance that we cannot miss and that will allow us to remedy one of the biggest criticalities compared to other countries. We have to close this gap and EURO 2032 is the right opportunity.

Finally, the episode of Professione Presidente ends with a message that Gravina addresses to all young people: 'I believe that young people should approach our world to play, have fun and cultivate their dreams. I take the liberty of advising young people to always be more focused on fun and play. It is right to dream, but we must never forget that only one in 5,000 becomes a professional footballer and one in 35,000 makes it to the national team. So let us enjoy the fun of the game of football, which is a bit of a metaphor for our lives'.
