TappiAMO project: 35 kg of plastic tops collected at the FIGC's offices in Rome

The FIGC's continues its sustainability commitments through the TappiAMO project, started in 2011 in collaboration with Caritas Roma and which combines social and environmental objectives. The initiative, which is part of the legacy activities in the Life Tackle project for environmental sustainability of football, involves the collection of hard plastic tops in personalised containers so that they are not dispersed into the environment, but are intended to be sold and reused.

Volunteers for AMUSE - an association of citizens formed in 2010 by a group of friends to create ideas and decide on actions to make the neighborhoods of the II Municipality of Rome more beautiful to live in - have recently visited the FIGC's three offices in Rome again (Via Allegri, Via Po and Via Campania) to collect the tops from the containers which had been positioned by staff within the premises in recent months.

On the fifth emptying of the containers, a total of approximately 35 kg tops were collected: the proceeds from the sale will be donated by AMUSE, through the TappiAMO project, to Caritas Roma, to support soup kitchens and food banks in the city.
