Saturday and Sunday, 'Football for a better chance 2.0' at the Olympic Preparation Centre in Tirrenia

Everything is ready at the Olympic Preparation Centre in Tirrenia for 'Football for a better chance 2.0', scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The programme, which began in 2021 and is led by the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio, is aimed at young people in the 14 to 18 age bracket, belonging to the most disadvantaged social groups and identified as being most at risk of radicalisation.

Organised by the Special Projects/EU Projects Department of the FIGC, "Football for a better chance 2.0" is based on the value of inclusion and the prevention of radicalisation of young people through football, providing activities related to the psychological and technical area elaborated by the work team composed of psychologists from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and psychologists and technicians collaborating with the Youth and School Sector of the FIGC. The Federations of Spain, Slovenia, Malta and the Republic of Ireland have joined the project. The on-site activities will be coordinated for FIGC by Barbara Moschini as project manager.

In Tirrenia, the programme includes a series of classroom educational activities conducted by Loris Vezzali and Elisa Bisagno (UNIMORE psychologists) and by Tommaso De Giorgi (FIGC Territorial Development Area), as well as a mini-football tournament to be held on pitch 1. The FIGC will be represented by the 'A.S.D. Gioventù Partenope' team from Scampia (Naples).

The appointment, for accredited media, is scheduled for Saturday, 27 May from 14:00 until 17:00 CEST on pitch 1 of the CONI Centre in conjunction with the tournament.
