On the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which was established on 21 March by the United Nations - a symbolic date chosen in remembrance of the Sharpeville Massacre in 1960 (the bloodiest day of apartheid in South Africa) - the Italian Football Federation renews its commitment against all forms of discrimination.
‘Tre colori primary, infinite sfumature’ (‘Three primary colours, infinite shades’) is the slogan that has been chosen by the FIGC, which has once again launched a communication campaign dedicated to this cause. When Italy faced Germany last night, in front of more than 60,000 spectators, the campaign video was premiered on the giant screens at the Meazza, and it will be further shared today via the Federation's official channels. Promoted by the FIGC, it is an invitation to raise awareness within the entire football community. The project once again stems from the Federation’s desire to send a strong message to promote inclusion by involving all the main stakeholders in Italian football.
“The FIGC is committed to a profound cultural renewal of the football movement as a whole,” said President Gabriele Gravina. “Through its Social and Environmental Sustainability Strategy, it also aims to positively influence civil society. The multidimensionality of football represents a value to be promoted both on and off the pitch.”
