Fourth day of UEFA's HatTrick program, launched in 2004 to support the development of football in Europe through investment in infrastructure and projects to grow the sector. The educational meeting on anti-doping, which took place at the Juventus Training Center in Vinovo, involved the young athletes of the Juventus U20s team, their medical and technical staff, and participants in the Youth League. The presentation was on risks associated with the use of doping substances and to promote a sports culture based on principles of fairness, integrity and respect for the rules.
Speakers for this fourth training session were Francesca Sordini of the Federal Anti-Doping Commission and Francesca Boscariol of NADO Italy. Various topics were addressed during the meeting, such as the concept of doping and the identification of prohibited substances; the negative impacts of doping on the physical and mental health of young athletes, as well as the legal and disciplinary consequences. Other topics covered include current regulations in football, control procedures and applicable sanctions, and closing with the fundamental role of education and awareness within youth teams.
