This election is an extraordinary recognition of the important contribution offered by Italian football in the development of the sport we all love most. The future of European football is built on everyday and we will continue to support this evolution. On a personal level, this election is a incredible satisfaction because it is the product of good political management, but also a brilliant level of relations and links created on an international level, which contributed in a decisive way to this incredible result. I want to thank President Ceferin for his vision and friendship as well as all of the delegates from the other Federations, who recognised have given the FIGC and myself this great responsibility".
