A speech from Marco Brunelli and a look at what’s to comeMonday, December 18, 2023
After the awarding of UEFA EURO 2032 to the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Turkish Football Federation (TFF), the ten Italian candidate cities to stage European Championship matches and the stakeholders involved met for a workshop at the Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel in Rome. Representatives from the respective cities, Cagliari Calcio, Juventus FC, SSC Napoli, AICA, ANCI, Assaeroporti (Italian Association of Airports), Aeroporti2030, Enac, Federalberghi (Federation of Italian Hotels & Tourism Associations), Istituto per il Credito Sportivo, KPMG, Polimi and Sport e Salute SpA were all present.
The event was opened by FIGC General Secretary, Marco Brunelli, who emphasised how UEFA EURO 2032 will be “a great opportunity for Italian football and the national economy” ('We Play as One' is the motto of Italy and Türkiye’s joint campaign). The Project Manager for UEFA EURO 2032, Antonio Talarico, and the team that worked on the candidature dossier then summarised what awaits the cities and stakeholders in the coming months, from the related processes of construction and renovation of stadiums through to the choice of venues that will host matches, the constant monitoring of the project’s progress and the subsequent establishment of the LOS (Local Organizational Structure).
