History
The Technical Center of Coverciano was created by two eminent Florentine: Luigi Ridolfi and Dante Berretti; the first gives his name to the Centre. The Italian Football Federation purchased land in Coverciano, a Florence district, in 1952 for the purpose of building a new Centre where training for both players and technical staff would take place. The Centre was officially opened in November 1958. Prior to its construction, the FIGC's technical sector was headquartered in Rome with the other departments.
