The FIGC, founded in 1898, recognised by FIFA in 1905 and a founding member of UEFA in 1954, is the association of sporting organisations that promotes football in Italy.

The FIGC’s scope includes:

• Promoting and regulating football and its related aspects, combining the professional and amateur game through a central structure.
• Pushing for the exclusion of all forms of social discrimination, racism, xenophobia and violence from football.   

The FIGC consists of different professional (Lega Serie A, Lega Serie B and Lega Pro) and amateur leagues (Lega Nazionale Dilettanti), as well as the Italian Referees’ Association, Technical Components (Associazione Italiana Calciatori and Associazione Italiana Allenatori Calcio), the Youth Sector and the Youth and Scholastic Sector.
