Tickets to go on sale for Azzurri fans on Wednesday 4 December

After Roberto Mancini’s side’s incredible run in the European Qualifiers which has got fans excited all over the country, the second stage of sales for UEFA EURO 2020 tickets will open in the coming days. The tournament held all over Europe will see the opening match played at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico on 12 June, with Italy guaranteed to play three of their group games in the country’s capital.

From 14:00 CET on Wednesday 4 December until 14:00 CET on Wednesday 18 December, it will be possible to purchase tickets reserved for fans of Italy on the website www.euro2020.com/tickets. Coach Roberto Mancini’s National Team will play their group games at the Stadio Olimpico on 12, 17 and 21 June, with their opponents to be announced at the draw on Saturday 30 November in Bucharest.

The first stage open to the general public took place between 12 June and 12 July with a record number of requests from all over the world, more than 19.3 million requests were submitted (over 540,000 of which were for the opening match in Rome) for just 1.5 million tickets. In this second stage of sales, 1 million tickets will be allocated between the fans of each of the 24 finalist nations by UEFA (20% more than the figure allocated in the 2016 tournament in France), split into three different price categories. The availability of tickets reserved for supporters of single teams is linked to the capacity of the stadiums hosting the European Championship as well as to the round of the competition. More information on this subject will be provided by UEFA on 30 November.

Methods of purchase. There are two ways that Azzurri fans can buy tickets:

  1. Sale reserved for members of the National Team Fan Club (Vivo Azzurro card holders)
  2. Open sale dedicated to Azzurri fans (“Fans of” model)

1. Sale reserved for members of the National Team Fan Club (Vivo Azzurro card holders)
50% of the tickets allocated to the FIGC will be reserved exclusively for members of the National Team Fan Club who will thus have a better chance of securing tickets for the Azzurri’s games. In order to obtain this privilege, fans will need to register and create an account on the website euro2020.com/tickets by 27 November, also entering the number of their Vivo Azzurro card on the registration form. Providing that their registration has been validated, registered Fan Club members will receive a dedicated link in order to purchase tickets for the Azzurri’s matches in the days before sales open (4 December), which will be valid until all available tickets are sold out.

2. Open sale
The remaining 50% of tickets allocated to Italian fans will be made available through open sale on the same website www.euro2020.com/tickets. In this case, applicants who identify themselves as “fans of Italy” during registration will have the opportunity to apply for tickets for the Azzurri’s games. Following the close of the sales window, applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by UEFA by February 2020. Should there be extremely high demand, tickets will be assigned through a draw carried out directly by UEFA, just like the process which took place in the first stage of sales.

For both methods of purchase, each applicant may purchase a maximum of 4 tickets per game. There is also a Follow My Team option, whereby applicants can apply for tickets for any matches of their national team after the group stage, regardless of the venue.
