e-Tickets: over one million tickets for the European Championship on mobile phones

Fans will be able to download tickets directly on to their mobile phones, easing access to stadiums and reducing paper consumption. Through a brand-new e-ticketing system, fans who have purchased tickets to the 51 UEFA EURO 2020 games will be able to download tickets on their mobiles. Starting from May 2020, ticket holders will receive an e-mail with a link to download the EURO 2020 Mobile Tickets App, the app available for download on Android and iOS: fans will then be able to enter their e-mail address to receive a registration code, then being able to download tickets directly with the extra ability to transfer tickets to guests or keep them on the original device.

Tickets will be activated with a QR code via Bluetooth by a steward or volunteer at the stadium, with the QR code to then be scanned at the stadium turnstiles. A rapid system, which will ease access to the stadium, while also helping to prevent counterfeit tickets and reduce paper consumption.

With a total of 28.3 million ticket requests, UEFA EURO 2020 is officially the most popular European Championship of all time. UEFA estimate that over one million tickets will be provided through this new electronic ticketing system, which was successfully used for the first time in June 2019 at the final phase of the Nations League.
