The Under 16 National Team came back to draw 2-2 with the Czech Republic at the Tirennia Olympic Training Centre following the 2-0 loss of two days ago. The Azzurrini conceded both goals in the first half with Sparta Prague’s Hugo Sochůrek opening the scoring in the 18th minute before Petr Potměšil (also of Sparta Prague) doubled the lead in the 22nd minute. The Azzurrini managed to secure a draw in the second half thanks to goals from Oliver Blini (Empoli) in 45’ and Thomas Campaniello (Empoli) in the 62nd minute.
“We had a passive attitude in the first half,” explained Daniele Zoratto, “giving the impression of being spectators more than players. We approached the second half in a completely different manner, scoring two and coming close to finding a third in the final minutes.”
“These matches help us to better understand the potential of the boys,” continued the Azzurro coach. “I got good indications from the new boys. Our aim is to bring everyone up to a certain level in view of the upcoming European Championship next season.”
