Just under two weeks away after the two friendlies against Hungary in Telki, victorious in both, the National Under 16's are back on field. The Azzurrini, still unbeaten in 2023, have registered three wins in a row, the 3-1 against a Lega Pro representative side of the same age at Coverciano and the two wins against Albania in Tirana (5-1 and 6-0), before drawing twice with Germany (both 1-1 in Coverciano and Tirrenia) and the two wins against Hungary (3-1 and 1-0).
22 players have been called up by coach Daniele Zoratto, all born in 2007 except for Francesco Camarda (Milan) who was born in 2008, ahead of the UEFA Development Tournament from the 4 to 9 of May in Portugal. Italy will take on Sweden first on Thursday 4 May (12:00 CEST), then Belgium on Saturday 6 May (16:00 CEST) and finally the hosts, Portugal, on Tuesday 9 May (18:00 CEST).
