Italy move up to 13th place in the FIFA rankings

The third week of preparation for the Women's team, as they look ahead to the European Championships, ended in Coverciano this morning. Prior to stepping onto the pitch, a session in the gym involving every player, who featured last night in the warm-up game against a Fiorentina men’s youth team. After three rest days, the Azzurre will transfer to Castel di Sangro, on Monday. This is the Azzurre’s final destination before they make their way to England, on 4 July.
Milena Bertolini will make her final call on the team in Abruzzo, before June 26; the date on which the final squad must be named. Beccari, Ferrara and Robustellini haven’t been selected, despite the coach wanting to get a good look at the three young players. Lenzini will be there however. The Juventus defender has recovered from her flexor problem that ruled her out of action for the last month and received the green light from the Azzurre medical team to start group training again.
In other news, the women's national team Fifa rankings were published this morning. Italy are ranked 14th place, which is once again dominated by the United States with Sweden and France also well-placed; France of course will be the first test for this Italian side next month.
