#UNITIDAGLISTESSICOLORI: the FIGC’s anti-discrimination campaign to feature prominently when the Azzurre play this evening

This evening, when Italy face Lithuania in Parma, the FIGC’s #UnitiDagliStessiColori anti-discrimination campaign will take centre stage once more. Through this initiative, a strong and unequivocal message has been transmitted via the Federation’s social mediums, as well as those of the various leagues (Serie A, Serie B, Pro League and Lega Nazionale Dilettanti), Technical Components (Italian Footballers’ Association and Italian Coaches’ Association), Italian Referees’ Association, different sub-sectors (Youth and School Sector and Technical Sector) and further Divisions (Women's Football Division and Paralympic and Experimental Football Division).

Before and during the Azzurre’s match at the Stadio Tardini this evening (kick-off at 19:00 CEST), the campaign’s message will once again be spread via the big screens and pitchside LEDs. Furthermore, at the weekend, the #UnitiDagliStessiColori will be displayed on pitches across Serie A, Serie B and the Lega Pro, and it will feature when some Lega Nazionale Dilettanti fixtures take place too. Furthermore, all match officials overseeing games in the professional leagues will take to the pitch wearing the campaign’s t-shirt.

The project sees the National Office against Racial Discrimination (UNAR) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers become an institutional partner and came about with the assistance of UEFA Hat-Trick FSR (Football and Social Responsibility).

Through the use of our four-colour identity (cyan, magenta, yellow and black), the #UnitiDagliStessiColori campaign, conceived by the Independent Ideas agency (Publicis Groupe), tells the story of the different ethnic groups from a new, original and unexpected point of view: against the irrational logic of discrimination, the campaign makes use of primary colours demonstrating how each type of skin has the same origin and, in fact, is the combination of the same colours.

The campaign is an integral part in the FIGC’s Anti-Discrimination Plan, launched in January, which saw the establishment of the first Work Table against Discrimination with the participation of UNAR and all the main stakeholders of the Italian football system: Lega Serie A, Lega Serie B, Lega Pro, Lega Nazionale Dilettanti, Italian Footballers’ Association, Italian Coaches’ Association, Italian Referees’ Association, Youth and School Sector, Technical Sector, Women's Football Division, and Paralympic and Experimental Football Division. The project stems from the Federation's desire to give a strong, coherent and cohesive signal to combat discrimination and promote all inclusion by incorporating all the key contributors in Italian football. The plan consists of various initiatives that will come to fruition in the coming months thanks to the fundamental commitment of all involved parties.
