Carmine Nunziata will be the man to take charge of the Under-19 National Team during the European Championship in Armenia from 14th to 27th July. It’s been confirmed by the FIGC that Nunziata will guide the team through the competition after Federico Guidi’s contract recently ended in May by mutual consent. Most recently, Nunziata has led the Under-17s to two consecutive second-place finishes at the Euros.

As runners’ up during the last Euros, the Azzurrini are located in Group alongside reigning champions Portugal, hosts Armenia and Spain. Meanwhile, the other group consists of the Czech Republic, Ireland, Norway and France. Every game will be played in Yerevan. Following the competition’s first phase, the top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals. During the last competition in England, Italy were beaten by Portugal during a dramatic 4-3 final.
