The Azzurrini, after seeing Maiorana's (Fiorentina) penalty neutralized by Manuel González (Real Betis) in the 25th minute, fall behind just before the end of the first half (45'): Reyes, son of art and namesake of the late José Antonio, collects a ball near the left apex of the opponent's penalty area and, with a delightful lob from a tight angle, beats Longoni (Milan) at the near post.
