The Under 17 National Team completes another comeback in three days, having recovered from 3-0 to 3-3 on Tuesday, and delivers another outstanding display of character by winning 2-1 at Estadio San Rafael in Los Barrios against Spain. The Azzurrini, after seeing Maiorana's (Fiorentina) penalty neutralized by Manuel González (Real Betis) in the 25th minute, fall behind just before the end of the first half (45'): Reyes, son of art and namesake of the late José Antonio, collects a ball near the left apex of the opponent's penalty area and, with a delightful lob from a tight angle, beats Longoni (Milan) at the near post. In the second half, Massimiliano Favo's boys don't give up and find the equalizer in the 63rd minute with Sala (Milan), whose left-footed shot in the box is deflected just enough to deceive the Spanish number 13, before Coletta (Roma), who came on for Mariutto (Venezia) at halftime, takes advantage of a rebound with Galdeano (Real Valladolid) in the center of the opponent's small area, creating a winning ricochet in the 67th minute.
"In the first part of the match - emphasizes Massimiliano Favo - we struggled a bit, but I believe it's understandable since, compared to the first game, we changed the entire starting eleven: most of the players on the field had never played together. Nevertheless, they showed they can endure and deservedly managed to overturn the result, which could have been more significant if we had been less selfish in the final pass.
