A player from the Women's National Team tests positive for COVID-19

A player from the Women’s National Team, who are training at Coverciano ahead of their Euro 2022 qualifying match against Demark on Tuesday, has tested positive for COVID-19 after having her swab taken yesterday evening.

The player in question is completely asymptomatic and previously tested negative after undergoing swab tests on 19 and 22 October. As per the protocols set out by UEFA and the FIGC, this meant she was able to train with her teammates.

The player will follow the guidelines of the relevant Local Heath Authority Service, which was promptly informed about the case. Meanwhile, the whole delegation, both players and staff, all tested negative in the latest round of swab tests and will undergo another round of molecular tests later on this evening.
