UEFA have announced that they have received five declarations of interest – representing eight associations – to host the finals of Women’s Euro 2025.
Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden registered their interest in making a joint bid, while the remaining four interested associations are those of France, Poland, Switzerland and Ukraine.
The procedure to decide the hosts for the finals began in July 2021. It will be possible to lodge a candidacy dossier until October 2022. The UEFA Executive Committee will decide the host nation – or host nations – in December of the same year.
In light of the ever-increasing popularity of women’s football, UEFA have raised the organisational standards for the 2025 tournament. By means of a flexible procedure, federations are recommended to put forward eight category 4 stadiums, with capacities ranging from 15,000 to 30,000 spectators.
