Roberto Mancini's national team will kick off their campaign in the third edition of the UEFA Nations League along Via Emilia. Italy will make its first appearance in this edition of the tournament on Saturday, 4 June (20:45) against Germany at the 'Renato Dall'Ara' stadium in Bologna and then host Hungary on Tuesday, 7 June (20:45) at the 'Dino Manuzzi' stadium in Cesena.
It will be a tough month for the Azzurri, who will play 5 matches in 15 days: on 1 June, the National team will play in London against Argentina in the first-ever fixture between the reigning European Champions and the winners of the last Coppa America and, after the home matches against Germany and Hungary, there will be two other away matches in the Nations League, the first on Saturday, 11 June in England, eleven months after the final of EURO 2020, and the second on Tuesday, 14 June against Germany in Mönchengladbach.
Italy will be playing for the 23rd time in Bologna, where they have recorded 16 wins, three draws and the same number of defeats. The Azzurri will be back at the 'Dall'Ara' exactly one year after their 4-0 win in the friendly match against the Czech Republic, which was their last test before their opening game at EURO 2020. There are only three previous matches in Cesena, with the National team always winning in the friendly matches played against Bulgaria (September 1989, 4-0), San Marino (February 1992, 4-0) and Sweden (November 2009, 1-0).
