UEFA eEURO 2020 qualification: eNational TIMVISION PES get off to a strong start
The Azzurri lead Group H with four wins and a draw. The return matches will take place on 30 March with the group winner progressing to the final phaseTuesday, March 17, 2020
The adventure of the eNational TIMVISION PES in qualifying for UEFA eEURO 2020, the first virtual European Championship to be played on Pro Evolution Soccer, has begun in the best possible way. The Italian team, made up of Rosario ‘Npk_02’ Accurso, Nicola ‘nicaldan’ Lillo, Carmine ‘Naples17x’ Liuzzi and Alfonso ‘AlonsoGrayfox’ Mereu, beat Ukraine 8-0, Faroe Islands 10-4, Wales 6-0 and Andorra (7-1), a triumphant march that was only halted by a 1-1 draw with Montenegro.
After the first five matches, Italy are leading the group with 13 points, two ahead of Montenegro and three ahead of Ukraine, and they will look to consolidate this position on 30 March when they will return to face these same five opponents in the second set of matches. The group winner will directly qualify to the final phase, while the runners-up of each group will enter the play-offs in May with the aim of progressing to the finals.
The eNational TIMVISION PES is the result of a long selection process, with 1312 players challenging each other to join the FIGC’s team. The final stage went ahead last January at the Training Centre at Coverciano where the four Azzurri were selected who played in yesterday’s round and have taken one step closer to the finals.
