After four days of training at the Olympic Training Centre in Tirrenia, ending with a 3-1 win over Roma's Primavera squad (goals from Raimondo, Turco and Vignato), the Under-19 Head Coach Alberto Bollini has officially announced the 20 players that will form the squad for the upcoming European Under-19 qualification phase.
The group arrived in Poland in the afternoon and will start off their campaign in Rumia facing Estonia, kick-off at 12:00 CEST. On Saturday 24 September at 12:00 CEST, the Azzurrini will face Bosnia and Herzegovina, again in Rumia, before finishing off on Tuesday 27 September, at 14:00 CEST, against the hosts in Gdynia. The top two of the group, and the best third-placed team out of all the groups, will go through the Elite phase of the tournament.
The Under-19 side will be looking to go one step further this year after losing out to England in the semi-finals in the last edition. It was, however, enough to give them qualification for the Under-20 World Cup in Indonesia, set to be played in May.
