U18s draw with Spain at Coverciano
Daniele Franceschini: “These matches help you grow”Wednesday, January 15, 2025

A few hours after the U19s’ 1-0 defeat to Spain in Las Rozas, the U18s kicked off 2025 with a 0-0 draw with their Spanish counterparts at the Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano.

“These matches help you grow because they allow you to test yourself against high-quality sides,” said Head Coach Daniele Franceschini. “Our positioning wasn’t quite right in the opening 20/30 minutes, and they caused us problems with their passing. However, in the second half, we took to the pitch with a different attitude, keeping hold of the ball and creating several chances. The lads did really well to stay in the game during moments of difficulty and push through until the end.”
