At the Proximus Basecamp in Tubize, the U18s beat Belgium to record their first victory of 2025 after their 0-0 draw against Spain at Coverciano in January and 1-0 defeat to Hungary in Potenza last month. Inter attacker Jamal Iddrissou decided the match against the Belgians in the 49th minute, finishing off an assist from Torino midfielder Alessio Cacciamani to score his first Italy goal.
“I’m very satisfied because, beyond the result, which is important and gives us a boost in morale, we produced an excellent performance, playing with courage with and without the ball” said Head Coach Daniele Franceschini. “The second half was more balanced and quite end-to-end, but, on the whole, I liked what I saw in terms of the team’s attitude and mentality.”
Italy will return to action against the Red Devils at the Proximus Basecamp on Monday 24 March. “In our next match, all of those who played fewer minutes or not at all today will feature. After all, our aim is to help the lads grow through these friendlies.”
