Italy U16s win the Torneo dei Gironi

After facing Portugal in a friendly match in December (a draw and a defeat: 1-1 and 2-1), the Italy U16s team is getting ready for the annual Torneo dei Gironi, which will take place from 24 to 26 January at the Coverciano Federal Technical Centre.
Coach Marco Scarpa has called up 62 players, all born in 2009, who will be divided into three teams: one made up of 22 players (national team) and two of 20 (Rappresentativa A and Rappresentativa B). The three-way tournament will start on Friday 24 January (15:00 CET) with the match between Rappresentativa A and Rappresentativa B, while the national team will play on Saturday 25 (15:00 CET) and Sunday 26 January (11:00 CET) against the loser and the winner of the first match respectively.
ACCREDITATION. Access to the matches, scheduled at the Centro Tecnico Federale Luigi Ridolfi, will be allowed only to those who are in possession of regular accreditation (maximum two for each player called up and two for each professional club). Requests must be sent no later than 16:00 CET on the day before the match to the following e-mail address: s.filacchione@figc.it.
