The Under-16s suffer a narrow defeat to Hungary

It was a good game and some excellent football was played at times, but the Under-16 National Team failed to get the better of their Hungarian counterparts today. It finished 2-1 to the away side at the Tirrenia Olympic Training Centre, with Hungary taking a 1-0 lead into the break following Simon’s tenth-minute penalty. The Azzurrini responded well, with AC Milan striker Filippo Scotti equalising at the start of the second half. Mattia Arrigoni then had a goal ruled out for offside, before Galantai netted the winner with an 86th-minute free kick. The two sides will face each other again on Thursday at the same venue (11:00 CEST kick-off).
