The Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park in Bagno a Ripoli (Florence) will stage the Elite League clash between the Under-20 National Team and Romania at 14:00 CET on Tuesday 19 November. It’ll be the second time a National Team has taken to the pitch at Fiorentina’s new sports centre following Italy Women’s goalless draw against Northern Ireland on 23 February earlier on this year.
The seventh clash between Italy and Romania at U20 level awaits: the last such encounter took place on 21 March, when the Azzurrini came away with a 0-0 draw in Targoviste to pick up the point they needed to win the Elite League. The overall record between the sides reads as follows: four Italy wins, one draw, one Romania victory.
Before Italy vs. Romania, the U20s will take on Poland in Białystok at 16:00 CET on Thursday 15 November. The two upcoming matches will see Leonardo Bonucci debut in his role as Bernardo Corradi’s assistant coach.
STATE OF PLAY. The fixtures in November will be Italy’s fifth and sixth in the Elite League. In September, the Azzurrini won away to Czechia and suffered defeat to Germany in Rieti, while October saw Corradi’s side lose to England in Frosinone and draw in Portugal.
Table (number of games played in brackets): England (4) 10, Germany (3) 9, Portugal (3) 7, Italy (4) 4, Poland (3) and Romania (3), Türkiye (4) 2, Czechia (4) 1
