The U19s set to face Finland in second elite round match. Live stream on the FIGC website
At 15:00 CET, the Azzurrini will face the hosts, who were defeated 3-1 by Belgium in their first game. Giovane: “We need to display the same the determination as we did against Germany”Friday, March 25, 2022
It’s now time for Finland. After drawing 2-2 against Germany two days ago, the Under-19 National Team will return to action at 15:00 CET tomorrow (live on the FIGC website). They’ll be up against a Finnish side that lost 3-1 in their opening match against Belgium. It means that this fixture is do or die for them, and they’ll do everything possible to make life difficult for Nunziata’s team: “It won’t be easy, even if we’re the stronger side on paper,” said captain Samuel Giovane. “At international level, you must never underestimate your opponents, whoever they are. We’ll take to the pitch with our playing ideas and determined to score as many goals as possible as we look to come away with a win.” The Atalanta Primavera midfielder doesn’t have any doubts about the Azzurrini’s quality: “We’re united and have known each other for a long time. In difficult moments, we always help each other. We have the strength of the group on our side and, as we showed against Germany, are capable of bouncing back and coming from behind.”
Carmine Nunziata will have Cesare Casadei back at his disposal, with the talented Inter Primavera midfielder having missed the team’s first elite round game through suspension.
The Azzurrini will take to the pitch against the hosts aware of the result of the match between Belgium and Germany, which will take place in the morning. Only the group winners will progress to the final tournament in Slovakia in the summer.
