Medical exams and athletic tests in the morning, closed-door training session in the afternoon for the Azzurri, on the second day of the training camp in Coverciano, fifteen days before stepping out at EURO 2024.
After lunch, the players participated in a meeting on match-fixing, which is part of the Federation's Integrity activities and is required by UEFA as training before the start of the European Championship. For an in-depth discussion on the subject, lawyers Marcello Presilla (Sportradar) and Giorgio Ricciardi (Federal Prosecutor's Office) spoke.
At 17:30 CEST, the team then took to the field for the daily training session. The first part consisted of a warm-up with football-tennis matches and drills on a small-sized pitch. The second part focussed on technical-tactical exercises that also involved about twenty youth players from Empoli. The training session concluded with a practice match. Giovanni Di Lorenzo completed his scheduled individual training program in the morning and was then authorized to leave the camp for family commitments.
In the evening, an outdoor barbecue is planned, with the players and staff watching the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund on TV. Tomorrow, training is scheduled for 17:00 CEST (with the first 15 minutes open to the media), while at 13:45 CEST, Riccardo Calafiori will hold a press conference with journalists.
HEADING TOWARDS THE FRIENDLY TÜRKIYE. Meanwhile, in Bologna, anticipation is growing for Tuesday's friendly match against Türkiye, the penultimate warm-up game before departing for Germany. So far, 15,000 tickets have been sold for the match at the Dall’Ara, where the National Team will play for the 23rd time (the 24th time in Bologna). Once again on 4 June, the same date as the 2021 friendly against the Czech Republic (which ended in a 4-0 victory) and the 2022 Nations League match against Germany (1-1).
