The Stadio Città del Tricolore to host Italy vs. Moldova

Reggio Emilia will host Italy vs. Moldova on Monday 9 June (20:45 CEST), the Azzurri’s first home match in their 2026 World Cup qualifying group. Thanks to a collaboration with Sassuolo Calcio, the National Team will return to the Stadio Città del Tricolore almost four years on from when they last played there (against Lithuania on 8 September 2021).

Italy, who will play their opening Group I fixture against Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, are set to play for the fifth time in Reggio Emilia, where they’ve previously always emerged victorious (four wins from four, twelve goals scored and none conceded). The Azzurri’s first match there was a 4-0 European qualifying victory over Lithuania in November 1995, and they beat the same opponents 5-0 in September 2021 (World Cup qualifying). In between these fixtures was a 1-0 success over Israel in September 2017 (World Cup qualifying) and a 2-0 win against Poland in November 2020 in the Nations League.
