It was the sixth meeting of the season for the Azzurrini staff. Managers, fitness staff and match analysts came together at the Federal Technical Centre for “talks about the situation ahead of the upcoming European matches”, as coordinator Maurizio Viscidi pointed out at the start.

Gianluigi Buffon, Head of the Delegation for the Azzurri, was also at the meeting. He said, “when Maurizio calls me I always try to come and I love being here. This is becoming a recurring pleasure. It is a meeting that is necessary for my job, today and in the future, but above all I believe that when we come together, we can only get better. In March, there is a lot of work to be done for the U17s and U19s but we are Italy: our opposition will never want to play us.” 

The Italy Youth Coordinator, Maurizio Viscadi said: “This meeting is on the day before the European qualifiers for the U17s and U19s, so this is an important time for us as the season is getting difficult. As always, we have a lot to talk about, both technically and tactically, and I am happy that Buffon is here as it testifies to the work that we’re doing with the First Team”.

In the afternoon, the meeting ended with a research presentation by Azzurre match analyst, Marco Manucci. He spoke about touches in the opposition box while Matteo Barella presented a report on the working methodologies adopted by Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, analysed during his internship at the London club held during his UEFA Pro course.
