The elite round of the Under-17 European Championship will be played in the province of Siena. Today, the FIGC officially announced the venues where, from 23 to 29 March, the second qualifying phase of the European Championships will take place. Italy have been placed in group 6 by the UEFA draw and will compete for a spot in the finals, which will be held in Israel starting in the second half of May, with the same age teams from Poland (March 23, Artemio Franchi Stadium in Siena, 15:00), Kosovo (March 26, Poggibonsi, Stadio Comunale Stefano Lotti, 15:00) and Ukraine (March 29, Artemio Franchi Stadium, Siena, 15:00). The Gino Manni Stadium in Colle di Val D'Elsa will host the two matches that Poland will play against Ukraine and Kosovo.
The teams which top each of the 8 qualifying groups as well as the seven best second-place sides will secure their spot in Israel. The Azzurrini, led by Bernardo Corradi, at the beginning of last November, in Northern Ireland, ended the first round in first place in their group and with a clean sweep thanks to the three victories against Albania (5-0), Northern Ireland (2-0) and Scotland (3-0).
