Carmine Nunziata's cycle at the helm of the Italy Under-21 team so far counts 9 victories (three at home, three away, three on neutral grounds), 5 draws and 1 defeat in the 15 matches (10 qualifying for the 2025 European Championship, 5 at the Toulon Tournament), with a total of 32 points (average 2.13) out of the 45 available, a goal difference of +22, the result of 35 goals scored (2.33 per match) and 13 goals conceded (0.86 per match).

 

Counting only the path in the qualifying round of the European Championship, the record is 6 victories (3 at home, 3 away) and 4 draws, with a total of 22 points (average 2.20) out of the 30 available, a goal difference of +23, thanks to the 27 scored (2.70 per match) and only 4 conceded (0.40 per match).  In the 900 minutes played, the Under-21s were in the lead for 473 minutes (52.5%), in a draw for 371 minutes (41.2%), and behind for 56 minutes (6.2%).

 

In group A, the U21s collected 11 points in the five away matches and 11 points in the five at home. In the 10 matches, 128 shots were taken (67 on target, 61 off), two posts were hit; 56 corners were taken and 28 offside positions were played; from the point of view of conduct, 25 yellow cards (Coppola and Casadei 3), no expulsions, 120 fouls were committed and 106 fouls were conceded.

 

Between September 2023 and October 2024, 53 players were called up, of whom 47 played.

 

Ndour and Zanotti are the most used players (13 appearances, 1016 minutes and 990 minutes respectively), ahead of Desplanches and Ghilardi (10 appearances, 889 minutes and 885 minutes on the pitch). The 35 goals scored in the two-year period were scored by 16 players (6 F.P. Esposito, 4 Baldanzi, Gnonto and Raimondo, 3 Fabbian).
