There are less than 100 days to go. The countdown begins for the UEFA Women’s Champions League final, scheduled for Saturday 21 May at the Juventus Stadium in Turin. After the successful organisation of EURO 2020 and the UEFA Nations League Final Four, Italy will return to host the final instalment of the most prestigious women’s club competition six years after the game between Lyon and Wolfsburg which was played on 26 May 2016 at the ‘Città del Tricolore’ stadium in Reggio Emilia.
There are still eight teams in the competition, hungry for the title of European champions. The remaining teams’ journeys in the competition will resume at the end of March with the quarter-finals: on the 22nd, Bayern Munich v Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid v Barcelona. Then on the 23rd, we have Juventus v Lyon and Arsenal v Wolfsburg, while the return matches for all fixtures will take place the following week.
Opened in 2011, the Juventus Stadium has already hosted the UEFA Europa League final in 2014 and the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League in 2021. The Turin-based facility, which has hosted all home games this season played by Joe’s team Montemurro in the Champions League, in March 2019 recorded the record attendance for an Italian top division match, with almost 40 000 spectators attending the match between Juventus and Fiorentina.
In collaboration with UEFA, the FIGC once again will promote and coordinate the Volunteers Programme, which aims to consolidate the voluntary activities by striving for integration and inclusion for everyone who wants to experience a great football event and contribute to its success.
