Italy has participated in the final stage 18 times, including 4 consecutive appearances in the last tournaments from 2018 to today. There have been two periods of “dry spells”: from 1988 to 1994 and from 2011 to 2015, with two series of 5 consecutive eliminations in the qualifiers.
