The Azzurrini’s 2024 opens with friendlies against Spain and France

Prestigious friendlies for the Under 17 National team, which will begin the 2024 action with two tests against each of the Under 17 sides of Spain and France. The first two games will be held on Tuesday 23 (19:00 CET) and Thursday 25 January (10:30 CET) at the San Rafael Stadium in Los Barrios against hosts Spain. On Tuesday 13 (14:00 CET) and Thursday 15 February (11:00 CET), the Federal Technical Center in Coverciano will host the double friendlies with France, runners-up in the last Euros. For Massimiliano Favo's Italy, these will be two excellent tests in preparation for the Elite Round of the Euros, which will see them play hosts Finland, the Netherlands, and Belgium between the 20 and 26 of March.

The Italy Under 17s have a negative record across the previous meetings with France and Spain. There have been 16 matches against Les Bleus (7 wins, 1 draw and 8 defeats), who also won the most recent two friendlies played last February at the French Federal Technical Centre in Clairefontaine. The record against Spain is also negative, with the Azzurrini having only won twice in the last 19 games against La Furia Roja. There have also been 5 draws and 12 defeats, including in the match (1-2) on May 18 in Budaors (Hungary) in the first game of the final round of the Under 17 Euros.
