Excellent ratings for ‘The Azzurri Dream: The Road to Wembley’, the documentary film broadcasted yesterday at 20:40 CEST on Rai 1 that told through never-before-seen images how Roberto Mancini's National Team became European Champions. 4,133,000 viewers followed the Azzurri journey, from the opening match against Turkey to the final against England, via an exciting adventure told by main players. The documentary film, which recorded a 21.2% share of viewing figures, represented the end of the project of New Formats Developments, which began a year ago with the objective of narrating the National Team’s journey to the European Championship.
The four-episode miniseries, broadcasted from 7 to 10 June on Rai 1 before the Azzurri began at EURO 2020, received very positive results; the first episode recorded 2,905,000 viewers (12.5% share), the second 2,750,000 (12.25% share), while the third and fourth were followed respectively by 2,573,190 viewers (11.57% share) and 2,540,065 (11.86% share). ‘The Azzurri Dream’ has totalled 100,000 hours of viewing and was the most viewed documentary in June on the RaiPlay platform.
