Italy Women are continuing their preparations ahead of two upcoming friendlies against the Netherlands and Austria. Milena Bertolini’s girls will leave this afternoon for Ferrara, where they face their first test on Thursday afternoon. Kick-off is at 17:30 CEST at the Stadio Paolo Mazza, where tomorrow there will also be a press conference at 16:45 CEST. For the team, it is a tough test against the Oranje, the same side who put an end to Italy’s World Cup dreams in the quarter-final in 2019.
After the game against the World Cup finalists (who are returning to Italy almost seven years after the play-off in Verona for the 2015 World Cup), the second of the two friendlies will take place on Monday 14 June. The game, to be played at the WienerNeustadt Arena against hosts Austria, is another friendly ahead of the UEFA Women’s Euros, scheduled for July 2022 in England.
Today, Lucia Di Guglielmo of Empoli will leave the Azzurre training camp in Tirrenia, where the players arrived last Saturday for their preparations, due to an injury sustained during training yesterday.
