'Strong men, strong destinies' written in German: adidas show Azzurri support in Milan ahead of EURO 2024 opener
In the Porta Nuova area of the city, the three-striped brand created a new poster to honour Italy and the head coach. Alongside is also the image of Dimarco wearing the national team shirt with the phrase: 'You Got This'Saturday, June 15, 2024
Almost 3000 square metres, a 50-metre high poster: this is the size of the Azzurri poster that adidas has created in Milan to support head coach Luciano Spalletti and his Italy national team for their opening game in the European Championship this evening in Dortmund. The message, written in German, is this: "Starke Persönlichkeiten, starke ziele", or "Strong men, strong destinies", one that has summarised the thoughts of the head coach from Certaldo for some time now. One true Spalletti, leading 60 million coaches - as is seen on the billboard - which represents an old, all-Italian saying, that for every fan of the national team there is a coach.
The Out of Home created by the German brand in collaboration with the FIGC is located in the Porta Nuova district, in via Melchiorre Gioia, a stone's throw from the splendid Biblioteca degli Alberi (Library) and Gae Aulenti's skyscrapers. All great excellences of our country, such as the school of Italian coaches, which Spalletti is one of its greatest spokespersons. Next to the large Azzurri poster is the image of Dimarco, who is wearing the national team shirt and the phrase "You Got This", a greeting ahead of this evening's clash.
