Spalletti’s tour of Serie A clubs resumes at Viola Park

Italy Head Coach, Luciano Spalletti, stopped by Viola Park yesterday afternoon to observe Fiorentina in training. After meeting with Viola Coach Raffaele Palladino and Sporting Director Goretti, Spalletti attended the on-pitch session alongside Galloppa, Fiorentina Primavera Head Coach.

At the end of August, the Azzurri manager will draw up his squad list for the UEFA Nations League games in September. Last season, he managed to stop by every single Serie A club with the aim of meeting with technical staff and club management and following Italian players from up close.

Italy’s season will kick off with two away games: on September 1 they will be at the Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano before the game against France on Friday 6 September at the Parc des Princes in Paris. On Monday 9 September, Italy will play Israel at the Boszik Stadion in Budapest, these are the first two fixtures of the new edition of the UEFA Nations League.

The Azzurri are in Group A2 of the UEFA Nations League 2024/25. They will face France, Belgium and Israel: six games are scheduled between September and November. The aim will be to finish in the top two spots and secure a place in the quarter-finals, a new addition to the tournament from this year. Third place would mean a play-out against a League B side and fourth place would mean relegation.
