Prize money doubled for the 16 national teams that will participate in the finals of EURO 2022

The UEFA Executive Committee, which met yesterday in Chişinău, Moldova, approved a substantial increase in the prize money distributed to the teams participating in the finals of the European Championship which will be played in England in the summer of 2022.

The 16 qualified teams will share a total of 16 million euros, double the amount allocated in 2017 at the last edition of the tournament. The financial distribution includes a guaranteed payment and higher bonuses based on the results in the group stage.

Furthermore, for the first time, the UEFA Executive Committee has also approved a benefits program for clubs, offering a total of 4.5 million euros to European clubs that will have players involved in the finals of the competition.

The increase in bonuses and the benefits program are initiatives that are part of the TimeForAction strategy promoted by UEFA, which guarantees an increase in funds in women's football. Full details on the financial distribution program will be released in the coming weeks.
