With an in-house friendly game on the 'Enzo Bearzot’ pitch at Coverciano, the first part of a special training camp for players of national interest ended this morning. The first group – formed by players attached to Serie B clubs, along with Volendam's Oristanio and Lecce goalkeeper Falcone, who will take part in all three days – ended their two days of work with two 40-minute halves. Also involved, watching on from the stands, were all the Head Coaches of the Azzurrini, from the Under 15s to the Under 21s, as well as National Men's Youth Coordinator, Maurizio Viscidi.
The game ended 1-0, with the deciding goal being scored by Giorgio Cittadini at the start of the second half; the Modena defender was able to get on the end of a corner crossed in from the left by Millico. In the first half, Palermo forward Mattero Brunori showed his quality by coming close to scoring after his strike from 20 yards out slammed against the post.
This afternoon, the second group - composed by players from Serie A and those playing abroad - will start their two-day training camp with their first session at Coverciano. Tomorrow morning, another in-house friendly will conclude the three-day camp.
