Ahead of the Under-21 National Team’s European Championship qualifying matches in June, Paolo Nicolato has called up twelve players for a training camp at the Tirrenia Olympic Training Centre between Tuesday 17 and Friday 20 May. The camp is reserved for those who have finished the season with their respective clubs.
Top of Group F on 17 points and with a three-point lead and a game in hand over second-place Sweden, Italy will play their last three qualifying matches next month. The Azzurrini’s aim is to stay top of their group and thus secure direct qualification for the Euros. Nicolato’s side will face Luxembourg in Differdange on 6 June before taking on Sweden in Helsingborg three days later. Then, on 14 June, the Stadio Cino e Lillo Del Duca will host the team’s last group match, against the Republic of Ireland.
