With four months gone since the game against France last November, Milan will once again host the Azzurri on Thursday 20 March: Italy vs. Germany in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals (ticket info here). This will be the 63rd game played in Milan which thus closes in on Rome in the table for places to have hosted the most number of Azzurri games: the capital city is top with 65, Milan now will reach 63. The Lombard capital is already top for the number of Italy wins (39 like Rome, but with a better percentage, followed by Turin on 25) and goals scored (144, Rome 122 and Turin 83).
This will be the fifth time we have played Germany in Milan after the games in 1923 (at Campo Milan di Viale Lombardia), 1940, 2013 and 2016 - all of which were friendlies played at the Meazza; two wins for Italy and two draws.
