Italy either in Group A or Group I for World Cup 2026 qualifiers
13 December 2024
Wednesday, May 18, 2022
Before the Azzurri’s matches in June, which will see them play five times in the space of 15 days, Roberto Mancini will assess two groups of players on the National Team radar between 24 and 26 May. It represents the first step on a path that the FIGC, in consultation with the leagues and clubs, has decided to go down in order to facilitate the transition from the National Youth Team setup to the senior side and to widen the pool of available players to choose from.
On Friday 20 May, the Head Coach will announce the list of players who will be involved, while, on Monday 23 May, he’ll announce his squad for Italy’s fixtures in June. The Azzurri will meet up at Coverciano on Friday 27 May and, five days later, will take to the pitch at Wembley to play Argentina in the 2022 ‘Finalissima’.
