This morning, the side started with an in-house match, which was decided by Piemonte's goal. This concluded the first week that the women's national team have spent together, as they set their sights on the European Championships in England, from 6 to 31 July. On Sunday evening, the Azzurre will meet in Appiano Gentile to continue their preparations and will do so at the Suning Centre, until Friday 10 June. For the second week of the camp, Milena Bertolini has decided to narrow her focus solely on 29 players. The absentees from Juventus and Roma are now back, ready and available for selection after having been granted a few more days of rest following the Coppa Italia final. Beccari, Ferrara and Robustellini are also part of this reduced group and will arrive in Appiano Gentile on Monday morning.
On Friday 10 June, the third phase of the camp will begin and will take place at the Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano, from Sunday 12 to Friday 17 June. The final preparation stage however will take place in Castel di Sangro and will host the national side from 20 June until 1 July prior to their friendly fixture against Spain on the final day of this instalment. The group will then travel to England, on 4 July, for the main event.
